Acadia Mountain Guides Climbing School

Abby Rowe

Guiding since 1998
Abby began her career as an outdoor educator as an undergraduate in 1994 and has been teaching ever since. Since then, Abby has taught for Cornell Outdoor Education, Hurricane Island Outward Bound, College of the Atlantic and, most recently, served as the director of Colgate University’s Outdoor Education program for 13 years. Abby has a passion for place-based education and generally finds outdoor pursuits more enjoyable and valuable when sharing them with others. Abby loves teaching and guiding climbing because the rock has an amazing ability to simultaneously challenge and center the climber. She especially enjoys working with women, families, and LGBTQ clients. Abby can happily be found on rock, skis, in a variety of boats or hiking the local trails. She can’t think of a more scenic and less buggy place to climb and is eager to share it with others.
