Welcome to Clifton, Maine! Clifton is nestled in the rolling hills just east of Bangor, Maine and is home to some of the finest crags in the state. It is an ideal location for beginners and experienced climbers alike.Clifton has a good selection of both sport and traditional routes of one to three pitches in length. Clifton is home to hundreds of routes on nearly a dozen crags.
Clifton rock is generally very solid and most loose rock and lichen has been cleaned bringing out vast expanses of beautiful gray and white granite. The unique large feldspar and quartz crystals make for superb face climbing. Despite the excellent quality of rock, one seldom finds the crags busy. On many days you may well have the place to yourself. Enjoy. |
