Guiding since 2016
Paddy is a dedicated, full-time rock climber. His climbing journey began in 2013 while studying Outdoor Education at Appalachian State University. As Paddy became an educator he began to recognize students’ bright curiosity to realize what they are capable of. The same curiosity that he fell in love with and drove his dream to explore. For Paddy, guiding is a way to help others tap into their potential and curiosity of what is possible. Paddy has worked with Acadia Mountain Guides for four seasons and is excited to lead his fifth. When not living in Bar Harbor Paddy has been traveling to the climbing destinations he dreams about: all over the United States and other countries such as Chile, Brazil, Mexico and British Columbia. He loves playing banjo, slacklining, mountain biking and reading about ancient civilizations. Paddy enjoys climbing with all generations and gaining new perspectives from everyone he gets to climb with. Most importantly, he understands that everyone has a different summit to strive for, whether that’s hiking to a climbing area to cheer on friends and family, or cranking out 15 pitches in an afternoon. Come climb with Paddy today!
