What will we do? This is a “day camp” for youths 8-14 to come out and go climbing for the day. Learn about rope systems and how to apply them.

Young Explorers Outdoor Adventure Day Camp
Ages 9 – 12

 Who’s it for? For explorers who like doing cool things outside and are ready to start spending a day away from family.

 What do we do? These camps focus on a different adventure every day. One day you may wade in tide pools and learn about Maine sea life, another day you could be hiking and learning about animal tracks, etc. Nature study, active play, hiking, swimming, canoeing, rappelling, rope bridge crossing, knots, caving, and rock climbing are all part of Adventure Camps.

 Where do we go? Camp takes place primarily in Acadia National Park.

ROCKPRO I Day Camp
(ages 9 – 13)

Who’s it for? Any youngster between the ages of 9 – 13 who is looking to go rock climbing.

Where do we go? Acadia National Park

What will we do?  Campers will have plenty of time to climb and hang and all the while they will be learning about basic rope protection systems and how to use them.

RockPro II Rock Climbing Camp
(ages 13 – 18)

Who’s it for? Any teenager seeking to learn or improve their fundamental rock climbing skills. Campers may enroll for 1 or 2 weeks of this camp.

What do we learn? Lots of climbing for all levels while building teamwork and self-confidence. Campers will learn belay and rappel skills, various knots, and how to use rope and gear to build strong climbing anchors. Includes single and multi-pitch climbing as well as few breaks from climbing to sample other outdoor adventures such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking and/or rafting.

Where do we go? Most camps are based in Acadia National Park and one camp session travels to the White Mountains.

What’s different? This is the first step in a progressive camp series for teen rock climbers meant to teach life-long climbing skills and improve upon current skills.

RockPro III Rock Climbing Camp
(ages 13 – 18)

Who’s it for? This climbing camp is for teenagers seeking to climb increasing difficult climbs and/or desire to learn to lead bolt protected sport climbs. Campers may enroll for 1 or 2 weeks of this camp.

What do we learn? A big focus on improving climbing technique and learning the proper ways to lead sport climbs and transition to lowering or rappelling down. Camper will get to work with international IFMGA guide and school owner, Jon Tierney, to select new climbing routes, drill bolt holes and place bolts and then climb and name the route – something no other camp offers. We will take a few breaks from climbing to sample other outdoor adventures such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking and/or rafting.

Where do we go? The camp is spends part of the session at the Clifton Crags – Maine’s largest sport climbing area and Rumney Rocks in NH which is the premier sport climbing area in New England.

What’s different? A unique camp offering a high level of instruction and mentorship.

RockPro IV Rock Climbing Camp
(ages 13 – 18)

Who’s it for? Our most advanced camp for teens who want to take climbing to a higher level.  skills. Campers may enroll for 1 or 2 weeks of this camp.

What do we learn? One of the only camps in the U.S. that takes teens on multi-pitch climbs and teaches traditional lead climbing skills use artificial gear such as cams and Stoppers. Of course, there will be lots of climbing too and a few breaks from climbing to sample other outdoor adventures such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking and/or rafting.

Where do we go? The camp is based in Acadia National Park but will likely travel to NH to climb longer climbs and possibly to Katahdin for a true alpine climb.

What’s different? A progressive camp that provides opportunities to advance to high levels of climbing proficiency.

Multisport Adventure Camps

 
sport climbing, lead climbing, rappelling, advanced climbing skills such as anchor building, and new route development.
 

Who’s it for? Youth who want to get outside and do it all. Rock climbing, sea kayaking, white water rafting, swimming, rappelling, hiking, and canoeing. 

What do we learn? Outdoor safety skills, canoe skills, survival skills, and how to camp in backcountry settings. Lots of fun while participating in a variety of team building and skill-building activities. 

Where do we go? These camps travel around the state of Maine and spend 3-5 nights at each base camp. Baxter State Park, Acadia National Park, The Forks, and Grafton Notch are just a few of the possibilities. 

What’s different? This is a trip camp that travels around the state of Maine to let campers experience hiking the highest peaks to rock climbing by the sea.

Build Your Own Guided Adventure Camp

Want to go to climbing, hiking or paddling with your family or group of friends?
 

 Who’s it for? Any and all. This could be a multi-day family camp or a group of friends who might like to do a summer adventure with us.

 What do we do? A custom camp is focused on what you want to do. While we are primarily a rock climbing focused camp we are able to offer a variety of other activities as well. These include hiking, swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, rappelling, caving, survival skills, and/or nature study

 Where do we go? Camps may take place anywhere in Maine or NH or elsewhere.
