2020 Youth Rock Climbing and Outdoor Adventure Camps

2020 CLIMBING THROUGH COVID
SUMMER YOUTH CAMP
SCHEDULE

Acadia Mountain Guides
Rock Climbing and Adventure Camps
are a GO!

Dear Friends. Somewhere over the past few months a nasty little virus arrived to drastically alter our lives, change our plans and challenging us in many different ways. We are saddened to see that so many camps have been forced to shutter their doors for the summer. As a small group, open air camp, we are blessed to have been able to find some creative solutions and practices that will allow us to offer a limited number of youth camp programs in 2020. First and foremost is the health and safety of campers and staff so no question, camp will be a little different this season. Each day reminds us that “hard things are put in our way, not to stop us but to call out our courage and inner strength.”

As the season progresses, we will continue to monitor the situation and perhaps we will be able to open up more offerings but for now here is our plan.

Ages 13 – 18
Teen Climbing & Adventure Camps

Do I need to quarantine? No, while it is recommended that you do, the nature of the camp is such that it is not required.

Who’s it for? Teens looking to put some vertical adventure in their summer.

What do we learn? Lots of climbing for all levels, a bit of hiking, canoeing, rafting, while building teamwork and self confidence. Includes single and multi-pitch climbing, sport climbing, lead climbing, rappelling, advanced climbing skills such as anchor building and new route development. mixed with a few days of  hiking and watersports such as canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding or rafting.

Where do we go? All camps will be based in Maine in 2020. Our primary areas will be Acadia National Park and Clifton with 2- 4 day trips to the Mahoosuc, Moosehead and Bold Coast Areas.

What’s different? Each session will be different and will take parts of our popular RockPro camps and Multi-sport camps to create a unique multi-dimensional 2020 camp experience.
