Lucas developed a love for the outdoors while running around the woods behind his house growing up. He took this passion to Vermont State University Lyndon, where he began a degree in the Outdoor Education, Leadership and Tourism program. As a student he gained experience with rock climbing, ice climbing and backcountry skiing through attending and TAing classes at @vtsu_outdoors . Through his passion for the mountains, commitment to improving, and mentorship from VTSU. He quickly accumulated the resume to start the AMGA track.

In 2024, Lucas joined the Acadia Mountain Guides team as an intern, sharing his passion for climbing with campers throughout Acadia and New England. This year, he’s returning as a guide, and recently completed a Rock Guide Course in Acadia and Camden.
