Rob Benton
Rob has spent his entire life living in the great state of Maine and exploring its vast expanses of wilderness with his family, hiking, camping, and skiing. After high school and a bit of time spent being a ski bum, Rob ignited his passion for technical mountain pursuits under the tutelage of our very own Jon Tierney at Eastern Maine Community College. While at Eastern Maine Community College, he earned his associate’s degree in Outdoor Recreation and Tourism, tailoring his courses to a technical guiding focus and working to improve himself as an outdoor leader. His success at Eastern Maine Community College has brought him to work with us.
Rob’s passion lies in the winter; as an avalanche professional and ski guide, Rob has built his career around snow, taking him to many places. It is a pleasure to have his knowledge wealth on our staff, and we are happy to present him to you. Ask Rob about a haiku or to remix a song for you on the skin track, and he will happily oblige.
Rob’s skiing has him making descents in;
White Mountains of New Hampshire, The Alaska Range, Iceland, Tetons of Wyoming, The Wasatch of Salt Lake, Eastern Sierra, Chic-Chocs of Quebec, and beyond.
