Appalachian Mountain Club WFA Course

Basic Wilderness First Aid (WFA) skills are needed when you are more than one hour from medical care. This training goes way beyond standard Red Cross first aid. Learn to assess & treat injuries in backcountry situations using the resources you have available. The class includes patient assessment, immediate life threats, disabling injuries, hypothermia & other environmental hazards, fractures, sprains, and more. CPR is an additional option and fee for this course. This course is two full days and will be taught at Maine Audubon in Falmouth, Maine through Wilderness Medicine Associates, a three-year certification. The fees cover instruction and materials and do not include lodging or meals.

The course costs $250 for AMC members and $299 for all others. This course frequently fills quickly.
