Al Mandell has been skiing his entire life and leads many of our International Ski and Avalanche Education Programs, guiding and instructing throughout Japan, Iceland, and North America. A graduate of the Green Mt Valley School and a D1 NCAA ski racer, Al has trained several aspiring IFMGA guides on their ski skills in prep for the AMGA ski exams. But more than that he has a huge passion for skiing that you can’t help but become infected by. He is an engineer so avalanche science makes sense and he is able to share it with participants in a very understandable and excited manner. If you take a course with Al, you will take another. Join Al in Japan, Iceland or North America for a bucket list trip or an AIARE Avalanche course in NH, ME, or the Chic Chocs.
