Affinity Programs

Join us today by signing up for one or all of our affinity courses! Feel free to reach out to our staff about any questions you have about these courses or if you would like us to host a private course for you and your friends.

Welcome to Acadia Mountain Guides’ affinity courses! These courses are designed to offer people who share a specific identity or
experience a safe and supportive, learning environment to start or continue their journey as outdoor climbers.

We are proud to offer Women’s and LGBTQ+ affinity courses this summer. AMG’s Women’s and LGBTQ+ courses are led by our rock-star team of certified female-identifying or non-binary guides. Our goal is to support those who have the same passions and interests as we do, and to encourage individual growth and learning within the sport by providing instruction and mentorship in an accepting environment.

The affinity courses we provide are a preliminary effort to bridge the gap in outdoor education and leadership by creating intentional and dedicated learning spaces for underrepresented groups. We realize there is still a large gap in representation and mentorship within the outdoor climbing and guiding community, and want to do what we can as a company to narrow it. We seek to share our experiences with you, and help you achieve your goals as climbers and outdoor enthusiasts.

LGBTQ+ Climbing Programs

AMG’s goal is to create a space for queer folk to experience rock climbing in a safe and inclusive environment. We know the step into outdoor climbing has historically been difficult for these folk, so we aim to create an space where you can feel confident as strong climbers and leaders. We believe offering mentorship from similarly identifying guides is an important step in allowing historically under-represented groups to adventure, advocate, push their limits, and build relationships with like-minded peers.

  • Who’s it for? LGBTQ+ folk looking to experience rock climbing or garner more skills

These programs would not be possible if it was not for the ambitious activism from the guide staff at Acadia Mountain Guides. We would like to take a moment here to thank them for their hard work and the brain power they put into this project. It is near and dear to our hearts, and it makes us proud to know our staff members are committed to the growth of the company, as well as the inclusion of under-represented groups into the outdoors.

Please thank our staff when you work with them!
