Mountain Monkeys Adventure Day Camps
Ages 7 – 9, grades 2nd – 4th

 Who’s it for? Our youngest camp age group. For “Mountain Monkeys” who like spending their day learning about and trying new activities in the outdoors. 

 What do we do? These camps focus on learning and being active in the outdoors. Expect a different adventure every day. Environmental and ecology focused educational hikes in tidal zones, wooded forests, and mountain tops. Interact with your environment through active play. Rock climbing, rappelling, rope bridge crossing, swimming, canoeing, knot tying, and caving are all a part of the Mountain Monkey Adventure!

 Where do we go? Acadia National Park and across Mount Desert Island.

Young Explorers Adventure Day Camps
Ages 9 – 13, grades 4th – 7th

 Who’s it for? For explorers who like doing cool things outside!

 What do we do? These camps focus on learning and being active in the outdoors. Expect a different adventure every day. Rock climbing, rappelling, rope bridge crossing, swimming, canoeing, rafting, knot tying, and caving.

 Where do we go? Camp takes place primarily in Acadia National Park, the Moosehead and Katahdin Region, and the Greater Bangor Area’s forests and waterways.

RockPro I Youth Rock Climbing Camps
Ages 9 – 13, Grades 4th – 7th

Who’s it for? Any youngster between the ages of 9 – 13 who is looking to go rock climbing.

Where do we go? Acadia National Park

What will we do? 
Campers will have plenty of time to climb and hang and all the while they will be learning about basic rope protection systems and how to use them.

RockPro II Gym to Crag Climbing Camps
Ages 13 – 18, Grades 7th – 12th

Who’s it for? Any teenager seeking to learn or improve their fundamental rock climbing skills. Campers may enroll for 1 or 2 weeks of this camp.

What do we learn? Lots of climbing for all levels while building teamwork and self-confidence. Campers will learn belay and rappel skills, various knots, and how to use rope and gear to build strong climbing anchors. Includes single and multi-pitch climbing as well as few breaks from climbing to sample other outdoor adventures such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking and/or rafting.

Where do we go? Most camps are based in Acadia National Park and one camp session travels to the White Mountains.

What’s different? This is the first step in a progressive camp series for teen rock climbers meant to teach life-long climbing skills and improve upon current skills.

RockPro III Sport Climbing Camps
Ages 13 – 18, Grades 7th – 12th

Who’s it for? This climbing camp is for teenagers seeking to climb increasing difficult climbs and/or who desire to climb or learn to lead bolt protected sport climbs. Campers may enroll for 1 or 2 weeks of this camp.

What do we learn? A big focus on improving climbing technique and learning the proper ways to lead sport climbs and transition to lowering or rappelling down. Campers will also get to work with international IFMGA guide and school owner, Jon Tierney, to select new climbing routes, drill bolt holes and place bolts and then climb and name the route – something no other camp offers. We will take a few breaks from climbing to sample other outdoor adventures such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking and/or rafting.

Where do we go? The camp is offered in variety of locations in New England and Canada –  Clifton Crags – Maine’s largest sport climbing area, Rumney Rocks in NH which is the premier sport climbing area in New England and Kamouraska, Quebec.

What’s different? A unique camp offering a high level of instruction and mentorship.

RockPro IV Multi-Pitch Rock Climbing Camp
Ages 14 – 18, Grades 8th – 12th

Who’s it for? This climbing camp is for teens who want to take climbing to a higher level.  A graduate of RockPro II or III or equivalent skills often gained by climbing with adult partners. Climber should be able to belay and rappel comfortably without
guidance and have some familiarity with constructing anchors. Campers may enroll for 1 or 2 weeks of this camp or link this to a multitude of other camps.

What do we learn? One of the only camps in the U.S. that takes teens on multi-pitch climbs and teaches traditional lead climbing skills using artificial gear such as cams and stoppers. Climbers will
develop advanced anchoring, belaying, and climbing skills along with practicing the
basics of partner rescue. Led by AMGA rock guide course graduate or
higher. Of course, there will be lots of climbing too and a few breaks from climbing to sample other outdoor adventures such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking and/or rafting.

Where do we go? One session is based in Acadia National Park and one is based in the White Mountains of NH. Camps will likely have opportunities for a true alpine climb on Mt. Washington or Katahdin.

What’s different? A progressive camp that provides opportunities to advance to high levels of climbing proficiency.

This camp is led by some of our senior guides with AMGA Apprentice Rock Guide or higher certifications.

Rock Master Advanced Rock Climbing Camp
Ages 14 – 18, Grades 9th – 12th

 Who’s it for? Rock Master is back? Our most advanced camp for teens who want to take climbing to a higher level.  A graduate of RockPro III or IV or equivalent skills often gained by climbing with adult partners. Climber should be able to belay and rappel comfortably on their own, have familiarity with constructing anchors and have either lead sport climbs or been on multi-pitch climb. Campers may link this to a multitude of other camps.

 What do we learn? An expanded version of our RP III and RP IV camps allowing more to get on longer and more complex routes and to climb in the alpine zones on Mount Washington and possibly Katahdin.  One of the only camps in the U.S. that takes teens on multi-pitch climbs and teaches traditional lead climbing skills using artificial gear such as cams and stoppers. Climbers will develop advanced anchoring, belaying, and climbing skills along with practicing the basics of partner rescue. Led by AMGA rock guide course graduate or higher. 

 Where do we go? This session will start on the steep granite walls of Acadia, travel to New Hampshire to gain experience on longer routes and wrap up with ascents on Mount Washington and possibly Katahdin.

 What’s different? A one-of-a-kind progressive camp that provides opportunities to advance to high levels of climbing proficiency. 

This camp is led by some of our senior guides with AMGA Apprentice Rock Guide or higher certifications.

Maine Outdoor Multisport Adventure Camp
Ages 13 – 18, Grades 8th – 12th

Who’s it for? Teenagers who want to get outside and do it all. Rock climbing, sea kayaking, white water rafting, swimming, rappelling, hiking, canoeing, and more. 

What do we learn? Intro level climbing skills, backcountry camping and survival skills, canoe and paddling skills. Lots of fun while participating in a variety of team building and skill-building activities. 

Where do we go? These camps travel around the state of Maine and spend 3-5 nights at each location. Baxter State Park, Acadia National Park, The Forks, Cutler Coast, and Grafton Notch are just a few of the possibilities. 

What’s different? This is a trip camp that travels around the state of Maine to let campers experience a variety of outdoor activities from paddling Maine’s coast and waterways to hiking the state’s highest peaks and everything in between.
